Week 3- Day 5

Legs & Back, AbRipper X
Walk and Run combo- 1 hr
Bike Riding- 1 hr
Elliptical- burned 250 calories

Sashi and I headed out to the trail bright and early again this morning for our walk and run or "wun" as I now call it. We see the ducks every morning and everybody minds their own business. They're usually in the water or very close to it and of course we are only on the trail. Well this morning one particular duck decided to try to chase after Sashi and I as we rounded the corner. I couldn't believe it. Since when did ducks start hissing? Now in her mind Sashi is a pitbull when it comes to protecting mommy, but this took both of us by such surprise that we both nearly jumped out of our skin. Sashi almost ran into a tree. You better believe I was running at that point. I thought about that my entire wun. Why did he/she do that and we were not even bothering or near it. I mean this bastard came from the edge of the water running after us. I was mad.
After my wun, I went home to grab a snack and some water. Mini me came downstairs surprisingly wide-eyed awake and dressed, ready to go. Where??  She wanted to go for a bike ride on the trail. "Dude we were just attacked by some friggen grouchy duck I am not going back over there". Mini me thought this was so funny and that I was over exaggerating. Also ya gotta understand, she watches animal planet all day everyday and is always reading books on animals so she wants to investigate. She claims we must have been near a baby or nest or something and I'm telling her all I saw was this sucker coming at us. No babies. Oh yeah and hissing. I had to prove her wrong so I agreed and we headed out to the trail on our bikes. As soon as we rounded the trail that same sucker came after "me" AGAIN running and hissing. Mini me fell off of her bike laughing so hard. She had stopped a ways behind me. She pointed out that there were two baby ducks in the grass and the mom/dad was protecting them. Okay dude but I was nowhere near your precious babies and you need to get them a little closer to the water. I'm just sayin....
The bike ride was so fun so I've decided to incorporate it into my daily workouts before my bike starts to rust.

After my wun and bike ride my legs were on fire! I could barely do the legs & back video but I am so determined to shed these lbs I persevered. I have one friend who told me today that he thinks I am doing too much. My reply: "sorry my friend but you and no one else will discourage me from this journey unless you have MD behind your name." Besides...you didn't tell me that I was doing too much when you watched me scarf down a whole three meat pizza and 3 beers that time at Mellow Mushroom now did ya?
I'm pooped..until tomorrow where I'll do it all over again =).

Breakfast: 1/2 cup protein smoothie
Lunch: bowl of fruit (1 cup watermelon, 1 cup honey dew melon, 1 cup cantaloupe, a few cherries), 1 apple berry vitatop, 1 boiled egg white only

Week 3- Day 4

Plyometrics
Elliptical: 550 calories burned
Power walk & jog: 1 hr

So I got my walk in bright and early this morning before the sun came all the way out. It felt great outside. A nice breeze was blowing away the sweat ahh I loved it. I get in my zone when I have my music playing in my ears. I'm running further each day. I set a goal to make it to the bush that's a little far ahead of me and once I start going i won't allow myself to stop until I'm there. I don't speak out loud but my mouth is moving and I'm telling myself that I can do it. Once I reach that goal, I begin to walk again for a minute, then set another. I was very happy with my workout today. When I returned home I just couldn't bare to do the YogaX video. I stared at it for about 10 minutes before I decided no way. I do enjoy yoga but this is a different kind. Very hard, and way too boring and LONG. I just don't get it. I will have to find another yoga video to do in place of that one. Since I had so much energy I decided to do Plyometrics again. I do love that workout. When I began chronicling my journey I had no idea there were so many blogs out here with people doing the same. I am blown away everyday and have to pull myself away from blog reading to get some work done. I'm learning a ton of new things and recipes HOW I LOVE THOSE. This is my first time losing weight this way-naturally. I had always relied on weight loss pills so I need all of the info that I can acquire. I had a great day and hope everyone elses day was just as great or greater. =)

Breakfast: 1/2 cup protein smoothie, 1 banana nut vitatop
Lunch: 1 bowl of melons with a cherry on top (1 cup watermelon, 1 cup honey dew melon & 1 cup cantaloupe)
Dinner:  4 oz sirloin, 9 brussel sprouts, 1/2 cup quinoa, 1 triple chocolate chunk vitatop
Snacks: 1 pk 100 calorie Emerald almonds, 1/2 cup Ocean Spray 100% unsweetened cranberry juice

Week 3- Day 3

Shoulders & Arms, Ab Ripper X
Elliptical- 750 calories burned

I started my workout late because my very bratty daughter wanted me to be her cab driver. Kids! Grrr..  She kept interrupting me while I was doing the shoulders & arms video. I don't feel like I got in a good workout from that.  I quickly rushed her out of the door to her precious pool party. Goodbye! I returned home in enough time to prepare for my walk. While I was locating my sneakers I hear this loud rumble and then the room gets dark. What the.....It started to rain so hard outside. I mean it was so out of the blue. *sigh* I decided to burn some extra calories on my elliptical to make up for it. I just didn't have enough umph in me today for some reason.

Breakfast: 2 egg white omelet with spinach & mushrooms and a side of watermelon, cantaloupe (or cantelope as we spell it  here in the south), honey dew melon & 4 cherries, 1/2 cup of protein smoothie
Lunch: 2 old el paso taco shells broken up, 4 oz ground turkey in taco seasoning with 3 tablespoons pico de gallo, and 1/4 cup of Kraft fat free mozzarella cheese
Dinner: 4 oz tilapia topped with onions, red and yellow peppers, 1/2 cup cooked quinoa, 1 cup of steamed broccoli

Week 3- Day 2

Plyometrics
Elliptical- 550 calories
Power walking- 30 minutes

I had an abundance of energy today and felt great. Haven't felt like this in a long time. Granted my arms were super sore from increasing my weights during yesterdays workout but I still felt great. I'm getting better at Plyos. There are still a few moves I just cannot do like the guitar/rock n roll kicks or whatever they're called. There is another move also but I can't think of the name of it either but it kicks my butt. I had planned to head out for my walk at 8:30 this morning but mini me started begging me to make her some shrimp and grits for breakfast. She finally stated that if I did then she would make dinner. I thought about it and was happy to oblige. Mini me's specialty dish is a simple crabmeat, crawfish & onions dish that she makes very spicy. Real crabmeat was not in the budget so we opted for imitation which was still good. I made sure that she didn't use butter and paid attention to the serving size. The whole meal was only 301 calories and very tasty.
I did get my walk in this evening and I sweated like I have never before. My dtr let out a long "eeeeewwwwww", when we walked in the door. My clothes were drenched. Oh well, my dear epsom bath is waiting.
