Week 1-Day 5

*sigh*

When I went to bed last night I did not feel well at all and woke up in this same state this morning. Needless to say I did not get to do my workout. My heart is very heavy and saddened so this may have something to do with it. My head hurt and I felt nauseous and dizzy. I took a teaspoon of white vinegar for the headache and after a while it went away thank God. I took a tablespoon of Great Plains Bentonite Indian Clay for the nausea. This is what works for me whenever my skin breaks out or my tummy is upset. I rarely use it so I always forget about it. I wish i had taken it earlier.
Had to make myself eat today. The last thing that I want my body to do is go into ketosis. Hate that I didn't get the chance to get out and run errands. As soon as the market closed today my bed was calling me and I have been lying here since :(

Breakfast: Dannon Greek Yogurt-vanilla
Lunch: Ready Pac Bistro Salad-chicken cranberry walnut
Dinner: Mini me created a wrap from a leftover turkey burger and parm cheese. She wrapped it up and heated it in the mic for me. I was surprised the meat was still very tender and juicy.
Snack: Wonderful Pistachios (10)

Week 1- Day 4

Yoga X

GOOD LAWD THIS IS NOT YOUR AVERAGE YOGA!!  Definitely not what I expected and definitely longer than I expected (1:29)! I'm proud to say that I did my best and hung in there to the very end. Alot of those moves I could not do so I improvised but will make it my mission to learn and burn the correct way. The frogs were my fav :)
The first hour was the roughest and I thought it would be easy going when we got to the floor routines but uh..ruh..uh....no. Epsom bath here I come.

I know it's early but I'm on a mission to lose this mess so I couldn't resist the urge to step on the scale. To my surprise I lost 3 lbs. In my world I would like to lose 5 lbs a week ;p  It's getting late and I will burn 200 cals on my elliptical machine before bed.

Breakfast: Dannon Greek Yogurt-vanilla
Lunch: Syntha 6 protein 6
Dinner: Ground turkey burger(no bread), corn, leftover broccoli, wild grain rice
Snacks: Emerald 100 cal Roasted Almonds, Edy's Fruit Bar- lime

Week 1 -Day 3

Shoulders & Arms, Ab Ripper X

I woke up this morning very sluggish and tired (duh...went to bed at 3 am). Around noon I started to feel even more tired and then pain started to shoot thru my stomach. Noooooo....tom is here early..ugh. Took 2 motrins and had to lie down for about 30 mins. Will not let this stop me from pushing play.

My mini me did the workout with me and lasted a good 15 minutes. However she did stay on the sidelines  rooting me on the rest of the way. I used 10 lb weights throughout the workout. I was able to keep up with Tony and had to pat myself on the back for that one. Then it was on to Ab Ripper X. OMG! Out of the 349 moves I was able to do 299. I'm keeping track of them so that next time I know to up that number until I reach the full 349. Being that tom is here I was a bit surprised that I was able to do what I did.

After my P90X workout I tried to do the 20 minute TJ workout but  the dvd was messed up :(. I have 2 of them for some reason so I will have to locate the other tomorrow. I opted with 20 minutes on my elliptical burning 200 calories. Whooo!!  I am feelin the burn but I forgot how working out makes you feel so good.

Breakfast: Dannon Greek vanilla yogurt & 3 strips Butterball turkey bacon
Lunch: Syntha 6 protein shake-strawberry
Dinner: 1 piece pork tenderloin, chipotele sweet potatoes with red peppers, and steamed broccoli
Snacks: Emerald 100 cal almonds, Edy's fruit bar lime

Dinnertime: uh...yeah..this is it..didn't like the pork-1st time in over a year that I've eaten it and won't be eating it again anytime soon. Mini me devoured it.

Week 1 -Day 2

Plyometrics

WOW!  The exercises look easy but they are very hard and if done right you really feel the burn! I can honestly say that I did enjoy this workout though. So glad I pressed play =)
I felt great after the workout and had alot of energy to burn. I wanted to do the TJ 20 min workout in the evening but duty called once again and I was rushed away.

Breakfast: Dannon Greek vanilla yogurt
Lunch: Select Harvest Savory Chicken and rice soup
Dinner: 2 Fresco tacos from Taco Bell
Snacks: 1 pk 100 calorie Emerald almonds, 1 Edy's pomegranate fruit bar

**I know that I need to work on the food portion. I do not consume enough calories. I'd like to at least consume 1200 calories a day. Well...like I said before this journey is definitely a learning experience for me and thru reading other blogs I am gaining so much information :)

Salue!

With so little time on my hand I wasn't finding time to exercise at all. I have been "sorta"eating healthy (MY dillusional version of eating healthy) for the past 5 years slipping up here and there but I still maintained a healthy 140 lbs with minimal exercise. Since I began working from home last yr April 2009, I  gained and got up to 175 lbs at 5'2. I could no longer fit into my cute clothes so I did what I do best and went shopping and bought bigger cute clothes. I got very comfortable with my weight. 2 months ago I decided I would get lipo at one of the centers here in GA. I wanted it done before the summertime, shooting for the month of May. The Dr. told me that I needed to lose at least 35 lbs before he would do it. I was cool with that and attempted to lose it but as I mentioned, with no time to exercise it was a bust. I recently went to my regular Dr who flat out told me that I was headed towards diabetes and had better lose the extra weight. This was a wake up for me as my mother, 2 sisters, and 2 brothers all have diabetes with one brother even losing a leg. Another rude awakening is when someone that I barely know decided to take it upon themselves to send me diet tips out of the blue. I was so hurt and even cried a little. I convinced myself that I was ok with my size and thought that nobody noticed it. Friends would tell me that nothing was wrong with me and they liked my shape. I believe they just didn't want to hurt my feelings. My in your face and tell it like it is friend Nik sat down with me and said " girl you are gaining too much weight and you need to do something about that". "Your prettycute face is getting pretty chunky." etc....She was brutally honest and i appreciated her for that.

TAKING CHARGE..

I sat down at my desk to write out a plan and searched the web for what would suit me. I knew that I needed a lifestyle change and not just another fad diet. As I was searching, the P90X infomercial came on, I watched it in it's entirety. I then searched the web, read alot of success stories, was REALLY impressed with the beachbody site and all of the support shown that I ordered right away. I also remembered that I had ordered Turbo Jam and Slim In 6 a couple of years ago and decided to locate those and dust them off. I actually found 2 copies of TJ but still no sign of the Slim In 6.  I began P90X on Monday.Today I decided to track everything in a blog to motivate myself. Posting my overweight pics is super hard and embarrassing for me. I can't believe I allowed myself to get so out of shape but I need to SEE my reminder that this is NOT where I want to be. This is going to be one hell of a journey but determination is on my side. In addition to weight loss I'm hoping to gain strength, knowledge, and learn to eat the right way and clean.
