Week 7- Day 2

Core Synergistics
CardioX
Elliptical- burned 400 calories

I woke up feeling much much better today thank goodness. I slept like a baby for a full 8 hrs. I set my alarm for 5:30 AM so that i could be up and out on the trail to meet my friend at 6 but........lol.  Normally I'm ready to get up by the time I've hit the snooze button 3 times. This time I must have subconsciously hit the dismiss button instead because I noticed the alarm was off when I finally did come to.  Luckily she brought a friend with her and they walked and jogged for an hour anyway. They got there around 7 ish and the sun was already high in the sky and beaming so kudos to them for running in the heat. Afterward she stopped by with presents!!

She brought me these
I'm going to save the Bunny Fruit for my mini me because I may eat all of those in one sitting.

and this
How sweet is that??? All because I did something that I love. Cook!
I cooked a few meals for her for the week because she swears she is not a good cook.

I can't wait to try out the Kettlebell but not until I'm done with P90X. She swears by it.

Breakfast: Pomegranate Chobani & 1/2 navel orange

Lunch: banana strawberry protein smoothie

Dinner: grilled chicken pita pocket ( 4 oz seasoned grilled  chicken breast, organic mixed salad, red onions, 6 organic cherry tomatoes, 1 tbsp Fischer Weiser Roasted Raspberry Chipotle sauce) & 1 red apple with cinnamon
Did I mention this was Pita pocket week for me? Oh yeah!

Desserts are my weakness and I have been wanting some banana pudding for the longest time. I finally had to have it. Quick, easy and low fat.
Reduced fat Nilla wafers, Jell-O Sugar free banana cream pudding, Fat free milk, small bananas, and Redi-Whip (normally I use the 5 calorie one but they were out)

Since I measure my food, I decided to use these little dessert cups that I purchased for only a buck brand new at a yard sale some years ago. One of the great finds in my life because I've found all kinds of ways to use them over the years. I made 5 of these and had one for dessert tonight and it hit the spot.

Hope everyone had a great day!

Week 7- Day 1

Walk/Run- 30 minutes

I woke up in the middle of the night because I didn't feel well and couldn't sleep at all. I wonder if it was because i didn't consume enough calories yesterday. I got up and got dressed around 6:30 to head out for my walk/run in hopes that this would make me feel better. Surprisingly I did feel a little better but then the nausea feeling came right back. It's been off and on all day and I had to be out in the heat today also which I'm sure made it worse. I didn't get to do my p90X workout so I'm hoping to double them tomorrow.

Breakfast: banana strawberry protein smoothie

Lunch: Falafel stuffed whole wheat pita with Tzatziki sauce & sweet chili sauce

Dinner: Jambalaya (9 shrimp, 2 oz turkey sausage, onions, red and green peppers)

Snacks: 1 pk 100 cal Cheez its, 1/2 cup cherries

Have a goodnite!

Week 6- Day 7

A Day of Rest....

Except i didn't do much resting. I woke up in the middle of the night and couldn't get back to sleep until hours later. Because of this I slept until almost noon. I spent the remainder of the day cooking for myself and for a friend for the week. I'm beat.

Brunch: watermelon & canteloupe

Dinner: Lentil loaf -the recipe that I used came from Eat, Live, Run, paired with sweet potatoes w/ cinnamon

I fooled my friend he actually thought meat was in it and scraped his plate clean! It was very tasty and he and I both agreed that the simple sauce should be bottled. I had to make an extra batch of it alone.
He was so surprised when I told him what was in it...afterward. (*I made sure he wasn't allergic to any of the ingredients first lol)

While waiting in a super long line at Wal-Mart yesterday, I grabbed this mag and began to read it and just couldn't put it down. I had to buy it. It is so chock full of information and answered questions that i really needed answered. The Fat Loss Q & A is no joke...love it.

Hope everyone had a great day!

Happy to say that I did well when I went out on Friday night. Everyone noticed a weight loss so that made me feel really good.=)
Everyone had lots of questions and I found myself repeating "this is what worked for ME... so far" and "I am by far no expert, this is all new to me and I am learning".
When i arrived the food and drinks were flowing and I can't even lie I was so tempted.  Good lawd was I tempted, but I stood my ground and still ended up having a great time just laughing and hanging out like old times. I even gained a running and biking buddy for next week.

Week 6- Day 5

Legs & Back, AbRipperX
Elliptical- burned 800 calories

I finally agreed to go out for drinks with some of my associates tonight. Even though I don't plan on eating or drinking any alcohol. My friend asked why not and I explained that I have already eaten for the day. She says at least I can get some nachos or something. I forgot that they haven't seen me for a while so they don't know the details of my journey. I have only shared my blog with 3 people in my life. Sometimes it's easier to share with strangers than with people that you know, if that makes any sense at all. I only announced to them that I was going to stop smoking cigarettes, start exercising, eating right, and stop going out for a while. The "me" before this journey wouldn't have cared a bit that I had just eaten dinner. I would have gone to the restaurant to eat again as well as consume 4 or 5 sweet mixed drinks and wine. I always ordered more than one entree whenever I couldn't decide what i wanted....just greedy.  I hope I will remain strong and stick to my guns tonight.

Breakfast: 1 morningstar veggie sausage patty, 2 egg white omelet with spinach on 1 Thomas whole wheat English muffin

Lunch: blueberry & banana protein smoothie with a few blue chips

Dinner: REPEAT! Told ya I would be having this again, and it was just as good. Added leftover corn on the cob

Hope everyone has a good nite!

Week 6- Day 4

CardioX
Walk/Jog- 30 minutes
Elliptical- burned 400 calories

What fat looks like.

I have to tell you it was hot as Haitis at 7 am this morning. Sashi wouldn't even deal with the heat and left me hanging. I told her that we were going for a walk and she got all excited and raced to the door. When I opened it she ran out, turned back around in mid closing, ran to the top of the stairs and just laid there staring down at me. I called to her twice and she wouldn't move. Oh well. I hit the trail alone and by mid way I was wishing I had taken Sashi's silent advice. That sun was beaming. Tomorrow I'm definitely trying for an earlier time but dang. I'm just sayin...

Week 6- Day 3

Chest, Shoulders & Triceps, ABRipperX
Elliptical- burned 700 calories

itis- The drowsy sleepy feeling you get after eating a large meal.

Adam Richman from Man vs Food is hilarious to me. He's gotta love his job and always makes the food look so good. I too love food but I am learning to enjoy it in moderation and with substitutions.  Gosh I love this show. I'm trying to watch it, update my blog, and fight the *itis all at the same time. Can't fall asleep so soon.....must fight it.....must stay up long enough to clean the kitchen. Ah I feel good. Today was a good day.

I woke up starving for some reason. I raided my fridge for something different and found the Batter Blaster hiding out in the back. Wow, how could I have forgotten about that?

Couldn't remember when I purchased it. Checked the date. Oh well, I think 2 days past the date is okay?

Now I remember why it was in the back of the fridge. The texture was really weird to me when it came out of the can.  It looked like redi-whip.

They came out pretty decent though. Either that OR like I said...I was starving.

Breakfast: 3 (1/4 ea) BB pancakes, 1 tbspn Smuckers Grape , 1 strip Jennie O Extra lean turkey bacon= 310 calories

Lunch: 1 strawberry banana protein smoothie, 3.5 veggie chips= 319 calories
This time I restrained myself from eating the whole bag of veggie chips in one sitting. Salty goodness.

I've been wanting some chilli for a long time. I love to make it homemade in the wintertime but hate to cook it in the summer.  I found this one at my local grocers a couple of weeks ago and decided to go ahead and crack it open tonight.
I cut up onions, green peppers, tomatoes, and pulled out my spice rack. I thought surely i would have to season it up. Hmph. After heating and tasting it I put everything back where it belonged. It didn't need a thing. Maybe onions? No, there were plenty of those mixed in. The only thing I was mad about was the serving size....at first that is. I'm so used to having a huge bowl of chilli that when I looked in my bowl I couldn't help but sigh. How the hell am I supposed to get full off of this? I was still saying that even after I added 1/2 cup of brown rice. I must say though. I was fooled because that meal filled me up hence the itis. I have nodded off 3 times while typing this. Forgive me if there are any run ons, and typos.

Dinner: 1 serving Tabatchnick Vegetarian Chili, 1/2 cup UB brown rice, 1 half corn on the cob, 1 Golden Corn Vitatop = 435 calorie

Snacks: 1/2 PBNJ Larabar, 1 deep chocolate Vitamuffin

Goodnite!

CardioX
Walk/Jog- 30 minutes
Elliptical- burned 600 calories

I went to bed at a reasonable time last night and popped up at exactly 6:30 am. I showered, threw on my sweats and headed to the trail. The sun was already beaming down and I could feel the heat rising. Regardless I pushed on and power walked and jogged for 30 minutes with sweat pouring. It felt great to be out there and I was glad others had joined me. Not many though since it has gotten so hot here in GA but it was nice to see and wave to a few of the regulars.
This evening I headed to Wal-Mart on a tip that they sold fresh brown eggs. Well lo and behold...
Saved me a trip across town.
