Week 10 - Day 4

No exercise

I have been in a state of shock all day...simply stunned. A very sweet person I've known since high school passed away in his sleep yesterday. Passed away at the young age of 38. What has bothered me all day is that I was mad at him and did not even respond to a message or a 2nd friend request that he sent me on facebook last month. Now he's gone and I can't even say I'm sorry. Life is too short to hold grudges and such ,especially over little things that don't even matter. If you're holding one.. let it go. I'm going to end this post here. I just had to get that off of my chest.

Week 9- Day 7

Rest Day

Wow I received my first crazy anonymous comment today and it was deleted just as quick as it was posted lol. Anywho, I headed out for a run/walk early AM but my leg started to ache so I had to turn  around and head back home. I also tried Kettlebell again today only because a friend brought hers over. She popped in the dvd that came with her Kettlebell  and goodness...my arms are sore. Afterward I was dragged to Kroger to help said friend pick out ingredients for a dinner party. She said I seemed so happy and excited shopping around in the produce section. Well what can I say I'm a food geek.

Breakfast: Natures Own whole wheat bread w/ Peanut Butter & Co white chocolate,2 kiwis

Lunch: Dannon vanilla Greek yogurt & fruit crepe with fat free Redi whip

This light, cool treat hit the spot on a scorching hot day.

Week 9- Day 4

YogaX
Walk/Run- 45 minutes

I was determined to get my walk/run in this morning and I did just that. Although I made it to the trail a little later in the morning as planned, I still managed to do 45 minutes with the sun blazing on my back. Geesh. The normal hunger pangs that usually hit me afterward didn't do so much as a grumble today but I made myself eat a light breakfast anyway.
1 slice Nature's own whole wheat bread with 1 tbsp Peanut Butter & Co dark chocolate & 2 kiwis

My goal was to do at least 60 minutes of the YogaX but I just couldn't do it. I did a full 15 minutes and couldn't take it anymore. The internet connection went down in my area so I decided to take the opportunity to head out to a few stores to look for a new yoga vid with no such luck. I also took a much needed trip to Natures Own Herb Shop to stock up on my oils, butters and organic snacks. Since we were in the area, mini me and I decided to have lunch at Lov'n It Live. I have been wanting to visit this restaurant for a while now but never wanted to make the 45 minute drive from my home. It is one out of two raw food restaurants in GA with the other being Life Grocery & Cafe.  The inside was very nice and quaint not what I expected at all.

They open up at 2 pm and we arrived around 3 beating the rush so that was a huge plus. I was told they get pretty crowded late evening. Mini me ordered the seaweed soup and I ordered the infamous tostada that all of my vegan and raw foodist friends  recommended.
huge 16 oz soup with homemade flax crackers

This beautiful HUGE tostada of fresh veggie goodness with 2 types of delicious sauce on top of a flax seed crust

The portions were huge and very filling to say the least!  I immediately cut my tostada in half as I knew this would be lunch and dinner. I am so glad that I finally went because it was everything that my friends described to me. It was soooo delicious and even hours later when I ate the rest. As you may already know I love my desserts so we ordered a piece of carob cake and a brownie to go because we were too full to eat them there. I can't stop nibbling on the carob cake as I type. We saved the brownie for tomorrows treat but of course I pinched a piece off and it was very moist and delicious. The desserts were also raw and so full of flavor. On my list of things to do is learn how to make these meals! Speaking of desserts, Holey Donuts  is having a super one day sale! Only $5.99 for a sampler box of those delicious treats! Today only thru midnite. Oops, sorry for posting so late!

Weigh in #8

I have been super busy lately and on top of that hurt my left leg in the process. It's been hurting for a while and I continued to exercise on it without allowing it to heal. To make a long story short my Dr. advised me to take a break to allow it to heal. When I woke up Saturday morning the normal aching had subsided. I thought it was better so i decided to head downtown to the National Black Arts Festival to help out at a friends booth. Big mistake. I didn't even make it out of the parking deck. Once I started walking to the event the pain came back and with a vengeance. I could have cried right there in front of everyone in the deck but I fought back tears as I limped back to my car. Lesson learned. I've been pretty bummed out about it. I've only been able to do a few upper body workouts and crunches and crap. I weighed in this morning and thought surely that I had gained. To my surprise my weight remained the same. Happy that I was able to get this log in. I have so many blogs to catch up on tonight. Can't wait.

Wow. I couldn't believe she was up so early and eating blue candy that turned her teeth and lips blue. I had to snap this photo and send to my mom and brother because normally MM doesn't open her eyes until after noon.
She rode her bike, snapped photos, and had me cracking up with her numerous jokes while I walked and ran. Great company, thanks MM. :)
